Farming has always been a big hit with kids, from teaching children all about food and animal cycles, seasons and biodiversity, it’s at the core of every curriculum. And you don’t even have to live in the countryside to experience it!
Games and simulators have been giving children and adults alike a taste of the rural life for quite some time. And while sandbox games like Minecraft offer children an opportunity, the nitty gritty of roleplay farming is perfected by games such as Farm Together, offering that bit more technical and visual realism.
When EdHacked visited Dublin Zoo, the animal farm was always one of thee biggest hits for families – and it seems Farm Together builds from experiences like that.
Starting from scratch with a small plot, players are challenged to end with a huge farm that extends further than the eye can see.
How do you do this?
- Grow crops,
- Plant trees,
- Take care of the animals,
- Manage your farm all by yourself or collaborate with friends.
- You can also open it to the public and start cultivating together!
- ….and much more!
The trailer below shows the charming gameplay in action.
There are new items and buildings to work towards in-game, meaning achievements keep motivation at an all time high.
Couple this with plenty of customization items including fences, roads, buildings, decorations and customization avatars for a real-life feel. And for parents, an opportunity to showcase gardening and decoration skills!
Since the game does offer co-operative play with friends and the public, bear in mind some of the games privacy settings so as to create a safe space for your child.
